Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has, on Monday, got the State Electricity Tariff Regulatory Commission's dominion to clamp 50 paise energy load on its consumers crossways the board. The player load module be trenchant Sept 1, 2008.

The energy load module be trenchant on customers, in every categories including HT, EHT, advertizement and domestic, using more than 80 units per month, said a spokesman of State Tariff Regulatory Commission. The Board had been battling a sticking Rs 755-crore income gap, when the switchover from hydel noesis to energy noesis is feared to provide it liabilities to the set of Rs 2,548 crore this year. In a two-month punctuation upto mid-July, the Board had additionally spent Rs 450 crore on purchase energy power.

Three factors had precipiated the crisis. Kerala's allocation from Central installation was clipped from 1,041 mw to 600-700 mw recently. Two, since monsoon rains in Kerala went scant, the Board could command lowercase from the relatively affordable hydel power. Third, obligation has been feat up by over 10%.
