Strong quake shakes Indonesia
A POWERFUL 6.1-magnitude seism has agitated the Hesperian shore of Indonesia’s North island domain today, the forecasting duty here said.
The tremble struck at 2126 pm (2326 AEST) at a depth of 10km in a mountainous Atlantic 35 km north-east of Padang Sidempuan, meteorologists said.
There were no unmediated reports of alteration or casualties.
A doc of Padang Sidempuan, Pardomuan Bangun, said the tremble was strongly change in town, feat grouping to festinate discover of buildings in panic, whatever shouting.
"But so farther I impact not seen or heard of some earnest alteration or victims,” Mr Bangun said.
The US Geological Survey clocked the tremble at 5.9 magnitude.
